KCU Volunteering Booklet

I had the opportunity to work on a project for a charity called Kettering Community Unit (KCU). KCU is a charity based in Kettering that aims to help everyone in the community be able to reach their full potential and improve their quality of life. The objective of the project was to create a flyer that could inform people about how they can help the community through volunteering projects such as food banks and donating items.

The first step in this project was to understand the values and goals of KCU. The charity’s focus is on improving the lives of people in the community by providing support and assistance where it is most needed. With this in mind, I decided to use a bright and cheerful theme, which would help to convey the positivity and hope that KCU aims to bring to people’s lives.

To achieve this, I used KCU’s yellow branding as the main color for the flyer. This color is not only eye-catching but also reflects the warmth and energy of the charity. To balance the bright color, I used white silhouette flat vector designs throughout the flyer. These designs helped to create a sense of unity and coherence, while also providing a visually engaging element.

In terms of the layout, I chose a simple and easy-to-read format. The flyer includes a clear headline that highlights the purpose of the charity and what people can do to help. The body of the flyer provides more detailed information about the different volunteering opportunities that KCU offers.

To ensure that the flyer would be effective in reaching its intended audience, I made sure that the text was easy to read and that the overall design was clean and uncluttered. I also included images of people volunteering and receiving support from KCU, which helped to create an emotional connection with the charity’s work.

In conclusion, designing a flyer for KCU was a rewarding project that allowed me to contribute to a worthy cause. By using a bright color palette and simple designs, I was able to create a visually engaging flyer that effectively communicated the charity’s message. I hope that this flyer will inspire people to get involved with KCU and make a positive difference in their community.
